Your Career
We are looking for a Senior Manager (Public Cloud Security) who is responsible for building products that protect data, workloads and infrastructure for some of the largest enterprise customers in the world. You would help the customers in their journey to the public cloud by ensuring they have the best in class protection. The public cloud market has been growing at a very rapid rate for the last few years. As more and more enterprises leverage public cloud, there is an insatiable demand for securing workloads in public cloud. We not only secure production runtime workloads but are also embarking on introducing cloud product offerings to help prevent risks/vulnerabilities from getting to production. This team is primarily responsible for building out innovative product offerings around cloud security.
Your impact
- Cultivate and guide a high-performing engineering team through strategic recruitment, mentorship initiatives, and the facilitation of ongoing professional growth.
- Work closely with product managers and leadership teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to make architectural decisions and design scalable and robust systems.
- Cultivate collaborative partnerships with cross-functional departments, including product management, design, quality assurance, and observability to ensure seamless development and successful launch of products.
- Drive a commitment to best practices in software development, coding standards, observability, and quality assurance within the engineering team.
- Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery of software solutions.
- Promote Agile methodologies and DevOps practices to streamline development processes.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering teams.
- Establish clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and actively supporting the career development of each team member.
- Balance technical debt and innovation to drive system improvements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including upper management, to provide updates on project progress, risks, and roadblocks.
- Facilitate clear and open communication within the engineering team.
- Encourage innovation within the team and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Your Experiance
- BE/B.Tech or any equivalent certification is a must
- 15+ years of hands-on experience building distributed, resilient, performant and highly scalable web & backend applications in Java & related technologies
- 2+ years experience in managing a team of engineers to build highly scalable solutions
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Effective people management, including performance evaluation and career development
- Hands-on experience in Agile methodologies and project management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Active listening and conflict resolution skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Capacity to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions quickly
- Understanding of the company's business goals and the ability to align engineering efforts accordingly
- Proven experience in product development and product lifecycle management
- Experience with database systems, distributed computing, and microservices architecture
- Proficiency in one or more cloud infrastructure service providers - AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI & Alibaba
- Hands-on experience in designing, building & deploying scalable Microservices & REST APIs
- Proven experience in one or more SQL and NoSQL databases - PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, RedShift etc.
- Experience with one or more messaging middleware - Kafka, Amazon SQS, SNS, AWS Kinesis Data Streams, Rabbit MQ, ActiveMQ, etc.
- Hands-on experience in Spring, Spring Boot and related ecosystem
- Experience in building multithreaded concurrent systems
- In-depth knowledge of distributed computing concepts - CAP theorem, leader election, brain split problem etc
- Strong computer science fundamentals - multithreading, lock-free data structures, bloom filters, minimal perfect hashing, consistent hashing etc.
