- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
- Typically has 5+ years people management or technical lead experience: building and managing high performance platform and/or infrastructure engineering teams, experience across hardware, firmware, and embedded software development across full product life cycles.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus. Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
- Strong knowledge of operations and experience with any one of the scripting languages such as Python, Java, Perl, Ruby etc.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
- Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with product definition, metrics and customer-facing experience.- Experience managing cross-functional organizations.
- Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure constraints including networking, power, space, and cooling and Virtualization technology.
- Excellent written communication and verbal skills.
- Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development teams associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the operation of production environments, including systems and databases, supporting critical business operations. Will perform administration and analysis for multiple production environments and recommend new and novel solutions to improve availability, performance, and supportability. This is an opportunity to bring a combination of technical knowledge and People Management with administration/analysis knowledge of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support to a wide range of complex production environment problems related to immense growth, scaling, leveraging the cloud, extremely high performance, and high availability requirements.
Manage teams responsible of Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software. Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status. Coordinate escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or third party vendors to resolution and coordinate a storage infrastructure of Oracle system and database appliances. Responsible for Oracle production environments; assembly a team to assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching; prepare a team to work on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack while providing consistent system uptime as expected in a Cloud environment. this team will provide on-call support, on a rotating basis.
