Qa Engineer - Kolkata

Energy Aspects currently has an exciting opportunity available for a QA Engineer to join our Development Engineering team based out of our Kolkata office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced QA engineer to support the creation of test plans, procedures, and implementation that align with the policies and standard processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for writing automated tests, debugging and defining correct approaches, and creating detailed test plans based on project requirements. Success in this role will be demonstrated by leading the team’s QA initiatives and efforts to optimize quality control processes, minimize undetected defects, and increase users' satisfaction.

Duties:

• Writing automated tests and not manual tests
• Develop automated tests using Playwright for Next.JS web applications to ensure the highest level of quality across all platforms.
• Collaborate with developers to identify bugs/issues early in the development process.
• Create detailed test plans based on project requirements.
• Execute manual tests when necessary to validate code changes. 
• Participate in sprint planning meetings to provide input on testing efforts.
• Work closely with product managers to ensure that user stories are fully tested before release.
• Monitor test results regularly and report any issues or concerns promptly. 
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices for front-end QA testing. 
• Identify areas for improvement within the QA process.

Requirements: 

• Minimum 3 years of experience in front end quality assurance testing, specifically with Next.js and Playwright.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript programming languages.
• Proficiency in using Next.JS framework for building and testing web applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git, CircleCI).
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Programming Knowledge: You should have a good understanding of programming concepts. Experience in JavaScript, TypeScript or Python is crucial as Playwright supports these languages.
• Understanding of Playwright: You should have a thorough understanding of the Playwright testing tool itself – how to set it up, how to write tests using it, and how to identify and fix common issues. 

Desirable skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with developers and other team members.
• ISTQB Expert Level (CTEL): This is the highest level of certification, designed for professionals who have achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testing. It includes modules such as Test Management, Improving the Test Process, Test Automation, and Security Testing. ISQTB CTFL Level is also accepted.
