AddressCredit Manager
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Manager to join our growing team at Propelld. The Credit Manager will play a crucial role in evaluating and managing credit risks associated with our student lending portfolio. This individual will be responsible for assessing creditworthiness, developing credit policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in credit analysis, risk management, and a passion for contributing to the success of a forward-thinking fintech company.
Responsibilities:
Credit Analysis:
- Conduct thorough credit assessments to determine the creditworthiness of prospective borrowers.
- Evaluate financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to make informed credit decisions.
Risk Management:
- Develop and implement effective credit risk management strategies.
- Monitor and assess portfolio performance, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate actions.
Policy Development:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and refine credit policies and procedures.
- Ensure that credit policies align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Compliance:
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
- Implement and maintain processes to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
Decision Making:
- Make credit decisions in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Provide recommendations for exceptions or deviations from standard credit policies when necessary.
Communication:
- Communicate credit decisions and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales and underwriting teams to provide insights on credit-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ experience as a Credit Manager or in a similar role within the financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, risk management, and lending principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to lending and credit.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
