Purpose of the job
Responsible to provide management with various critical and decision-making information so as to ensure the delivery of projects on time and on budget. Responsible to support project management teams with progress reporting, schedule updates, forecast to complete, earned value, critical path, variance management etc.
Key Responsibilities & Activities:
1. Responsible to provide Project Controls management, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, histogram management, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management guidance and tools.
2. Responsible to direct the project planning team and extended controls team (including cost engineers, QS etc) on the application of effective planning techniques and controls (earned value, cost and schedule variance, estimates at completion, critical path analysis).
3. Responsible to implement dashboards to communicate cost and schedule performance to teams in real time. Responsible to implement a standardized suite of cost and schedule reports that enable senior management to make data driven decisions
4. Responsible for development of integrated master schedules for specific programs in Primavera and/or Microsoft Project that reflect all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractors' schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule
5. Responsible to monitor all programme control tools and measure its compliance in respect of the project's contractual obligations
6. Responsible to perform trend analysis and actively evaluate project cost and schedule performance to identify potential risk areas, validate forecasts, and communicate those quickly to key stakeholders.
7. Responsible to carry out project risk assessment with key stakeholders to identify project risks, and lead the cost and schedule contingency management process for assigned projects.
8. Responsible for all individual and certain Division specific productivity targets, financial objectives, KPIs and attainment thereof.
9. Periodic visits to Sites & Project locations to discuss operational aspects & issues.
10. Participating and providing positive contribution to technical, commercial, planning, safety and quality performance of the organization and in accordance with Client, Contractual, regulatory requirements.
11. Undertaking any other responsibilities as directed and mutually agreed with the Line Management
- Bachelor's degree in the field of engineering (Mechanical preferred)
- Master's degree in the field of engineering (preferred)
- Business Management (preferred)
- PMP (preferred)
- 15 years overall professional experience
- English (fluent)
- Arabic (preferred)
Skills
- A proven work experience as a Planning Manager within the Oil & Gas Business in a similar organization
- Strong IT skills and software skills (Primavera, MSP etc). Strong communication, planning & organizing skills
- Exceptional leadership skills. Ability to lead and transform the assigned project (s). Ability to garner Management support and confidence.
