JPM Rates LATAM is seeking for a Business Analyst to join the Fixed Income Transformation group, based in LATAM. The team will be responsible for the business and tech transformation of EMBO (which is the LATAM Fixed Income Post Trading application) including the migration of features to the Global Strategic Securities system FTPS. The role involves managing multiple stakeholders, product and system partners, to deliver a best solution from back to front.

The role will be responsible for design, analysis, and management of features migration to the new platform. The right candidate will join a small and focused team within EMBO but with constant interaction with EMBO/FTPS teams and final users.

User engagement, process & workflow analysis, and data analysis are essential elements in our design process. The role will have significant connectivity with upstream data providers and directly with Finance and Operations, our primary customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake analysis of complex trade workflows and datasets
  • Design solutions in partnership with users, architecture, and your software engineering feature team
  • Map functional requirements to components to enable common solution design across the platform.
  • Define the delivery of features for a program of work by articulating user-stories, writing functional and non-functional requirement documents and managing the deliverables following the Agile methodology
  • Write user stories and Epics in Jira with very clear description and greater level of detail including input and output fields, acceptance criteria, all the use cases, leveraging techniques like spec by example, or other structured specification approaches
  • Create activity flow diagrams for different use cases, including clear segregation of functionality based on the context
  • Write SQL queries for data analysis of the existing models and business flows
  • Be able to analyze a Java code for reverse engineering, understanding business logic through system workflow
  • Be responsible and accountable to the quality of the end-user experience through user research and stakeholder relationships; including the influencing of prioritization and direction
  • Ensure features delivered on the platform are valuable to end-users and contribute to the program’s objectives and key results by monitoring the success of deliverables, and influence the roadmap with iterations that will provide continued improvement

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Economy, Business or related areas - required.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a business analyst, product owner or equivalent role in understanding business requirements
  • Detailed understanding & experience in end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile / Scrum
  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and confidently (oral and written)
  • Strong Organization skills
  • Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
  • Well versed with JIRA or similar agile project management software creating stories, tracking story progress, etc.
  • Experience in managing senior business stakeholders in global context
  • Track record in working with stakeholders in different geographies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal
  • Ability to troubleshoot and deliver solutions to clients
  • Problem solving oriented and team player
  • Strong Knowledge of Fixed Income is required, and/or other Financial Products (e.g. Equities, Derivatives, FX) - desired
  • Knowledge of Structure Query Language – SQL (Oracle, Sybase)
  • Strong programming logic and desirable working knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills and desirable deep working knowledge of Excel functionality (e.g. formulas, and Pivot Tables)
  • Fluent in English ( Spanish is a plus)
  • Project / Agile Methodology Certification - desired

As a General Ledger (GL) Business Associate, you will be responsible for managing project activities related to the GL system and work closely with technology partners to drive change initiatives and implementations. The key responsibility of the role is support multiple projects / workstreams within the GL Finance Target Platform Program.

The Firmwide Finance Business Architecture team (FFBA) is accountable for leading large-scale data, infrastructure, accounting standard and business process change management events and the Chief Data Office for Finance and TCIO. The team also provides a centralized Program Management and business analysis capability, targeted program governance, and consistent application of Program Management standards including system testing and change management practices, with a current focus on overseeing the Data Acquisition framework for strategic and legacy Finance, TCIO, and Wholesale Credit Risk platforms..

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize, schedule, coordinate, and manage project activities and resources, including scorecards and senior management updates
  • Identify issues, risks, and project roadblocks and develop effective risk management approaches and mitigation strategies
  • Work in partnership with team members and/or stakeholders to resolve issues and own the communication and escalation process as required
  • Ensure operational readiness through both rigorous testing and implementation management
  • Drive components of the GL Platform based initiatives, coordinating across technology and the businesses
  • Define and execute project deliverables, including business requirements
  • Perform and support operating model impact assessments and documentation of changes, and drive the implementation communication

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of related professional experience as a Project Manager and / or Business Analyst
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Strong critical and creative thinking skills with ability to synthesize complex data sets to develop business insights and translate to practical solutions
  • Strong partnership skills; experience working with and influencing key stakeholders in drive strategic decisions and preparing succinct presentations
  • Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and delivery-focused individual who is able to work independently
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Experience with project delivery discipline, Agile discipline a plus
