Role Overview

The Senior Presales Lab Engineer will evolve and enhance our Lab and Simulation capabilities to support our Presales organization with our Hands-On Workshop, Lab eXperience, Proof of Concept, and Taegis XDR demonstration initiatives. The goal is to provide seamless provisioning of lab environments for a variety of Presales purposes, each of which support our prospective customers in choosing Taegis XDR to secure their organization.

Team success comes from our ability to automate these simulations, so that we can scale out and increase our ability to quickly adopt new product features and adapt to new attack scenarios, showcased by these labs. Customers want to see the product in action, we provide the tools to the sales engineers to make that happen.

On a personal level, in this role you will grow your knowledge and experience with advanced technologies for both cloud and cyber security. This allows you to mature your understanding of threat actor behaviour and learn how cyber criminals threaten our customers – and how we can protect them. In this role you will be working closely with Secureworks experts that will support you in your mission.

In this role you will be managing lab environments that includes development, configuration, deployment and supporting of these to support global Presales programs. The role will also be responsible for helping to design, build, implement, and document lab processes and procedures, and to collaborate with other Lab stakeholders throughout Secureworks.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage (develop, configure, & deploy) new lab simulation environments to support LabX, Hands on Workshop, Sales Engineer Demo, and customer Proof-of-Concept
• Support Sales Engineers and Customers with Proof-of-Concept activities, including configuring and troubleshooting Taegis integrations, investigating customer PoC data
• Automate Lab Provisioning activities to facilitate scaling these capabilities to Secureworks Channel Partners and Resellers
• Seek out continuous education around the technical and procedural components of Taegis, and the various teams that are relying on the LabX component to improve the clarity and fidelity of the LabX
• Manage the development of new Use Cases in our lab environments for PoCs and LabX, that demonstrate the value of the Taegis solutions
• Partner with other lab and simulation stakeholders throughout Secureworks, including CTU, Incident Response, SecOps, Adversary Group
• Track the current status of lab engagements and operational statistics for reporting
• Analyze and identify areas of improvement with management and related operations processes, procedures, and documentation
• Collaborate with Product Engineering on new capabilities and configuration options
• Understand the current CyberSecurity Platform application infrastructure
• Define, document, and perform best practices and strategies regarding lab deployment and maintenance
• Troubleshoot distributed systems
• Interact with other Secureworks departments (e.g. Incident Response, Pen Testing, etc.) to create play back scripts that simulate attack scenarios that help train Presales and customers on defense in the CyberSecurity Platform solution
• Work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment

Requirements

• AWS Certifications and hands-on experience with cloud infrastructures, containers, elasticity, security best practices and infrastructure as code
• Hands-on experience with EDR and/or AI based Next Generation AV solutions (EPP)
• Experience with common security controls (e.g., Firewalls, IDS, AD, Proxies, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience of TCP/IP networking and routing; both on prem and cloud
• Minimum of 2 years experience in working with the following devops tools:
  • Gitlab/Github/bitbucket, CI/CD, helm
  • Python, Json to build applications, integrations and leverage API’s
  • PowerShell, Bash and Terraform to automate tasks
• Hands-on experience with administration of Windows, Linux and Mac
• Hands-on admin experience with automation integrations with for example ITSM’s such as ServiceNow and Zendesk; Pagerduty; Atlassian products and others
• Effective troubleshooting mindset to resolve system and script errors

Preferred Skills

• Azure certification
• Understanding of cyber security attacks, threat actor behavior and objectives and penetration testing tools
• Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications
• Experience with deploying custom web applications
• Experience with Microsoft O365 management
• Knowledge of enterprise logging for OS, applications & various security technologies
