Job Description

TITLE: Senior Data Engineer – Information Security (Service Delivery Management)

Reporting To: Manager

Location: Bangalore

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

Eurofins today is strengthening the Information Security Reporting area. The crew is responsible for designing the data pipelines, creation and maintenance of reports that are used by several IT departments (IT Quality Assurance, IT Service Management, IT Compliance, Information Security, IT Infrastructure) and maintenance of the solutions the data pipelines run on. The data in scope is the performance of IT Services, compliance of IT Assets, and security posture of the IT environment as a whole.

Job overview:
The role of the Senior Data Engineer is to analyse the requirements, source the data, orchestrate the data transformation, and then maintain and support the data pipelines and infrastructure they are running on (e.g. Jenkins CI/CD). These activities will be done in close collaboration with the GSC IT Service Management & Reporting team.

Responsibilities:
Analyse approved requirements from stakeholders (across IT and business functions),

• Works with the domain experts and data/app owners to transform the data,
• Designs, creates, orchestrates, and maintains the data pipelines and data extraction scripts,
  • Writes scripts to extract the data (Python / Power Shell),
  • Manages the application layer for the CI/CD tool used for sourcing data (Jenkins),
• Assesses data quality,
• Monitors CI/CD jobs and troubleshoots failures,
• Documents the data dictionary and data pipelines / business rules,
• Works with IT/ Data Engineers to deploy/ coordinate the deployment of new data sources.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills (in English, both orally and in the writing, including moderating meetings);
• Bachelor or master’s degree in a STEM program;
• 5+ year experience as Data Engineer;
• Understanding the concepts of data warehousing, including ETL/ ELT (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data migration and data modeling is essential;
• Must haves:
  • Grate understanding of Data Bases (MS SQL/ NoSQL)
  • Programming in PowerShell and Python
  • Experience in running Jenkins CI/CD platform
  • Experience in integrating with data sources over API
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (primarily MS Azure)
  • software engineering skills; exemplifies coding and software design best practices DevOps/GIT.
• Nice to haves:
  • Best practices on enterprise data warehousing/ data lakes/ data mesh,
  • Experience with using cloud Data Engineering tools e.g. Azure Data Factory, AWS Lambda/ Red Shift,
  • Understanding the concepts behind API security,
  • Experience in designing Jenkins or other CI/CD tool architecture,
  • Experience in working with Power BI,
  • Experience working in Agile (Continuous integration / Continuous delivery),
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets to identify gaps and inconsistencies, provide data insights, and advance effective product solutions.
