Manager Safety

Align with overall objective of Services & Solutions business to meet long & short-term objectives for the division by understanding existing and future needs of the customers. Ensuring process and construction safety and adherence to quality standards during project execution.
1. Process Safety- To serve as the Process safety subject matter expert by providing technical expertise on Project Hazard Study related matters. Provide guidance to Engineering team in implementing PSM standards, industry consensus standard /guidance and for establishing sound PSM systems from design stage.
2. Contractor Safety- To serve as the Contractor safety subject matter expert across the Plant by providing technical expertise on all contractor safety related matters. Provide guidance to line management on implementing internal six steps contractor safety standards, industry consensus standard /guidance and for establishing sound contractor safety management systems.
3. Field Safety- To serve as a field safety professional for the division by providing technical expertise on safety related matters. Provide guidance and support to line management on implementing safety standards, safety guideline. Coordinate and ensure safety related legal compliances
PROCESS SAFETY

• To provide technical support on development of internal PSM standards or improvements for existing standards.

• To provide technical consulting support for the development of internal PSM competencies throughout the organization by coordinating and conducting various training, coaching, consulting sessions.

• To improve the Process Safety hazard recognition skills of line management through participation in Safety studies, PSSR, audits, etc.

• To establish a uniform PSM system across the organisation

• To assist PSM team in addressing legal compliance related issues in view of local statutory requirement.

To assist in global networking and sharing best practices between different agencies. To improve communication and deployment of PSM systems and standards in TSL
CONTRACTOR SAFETY / End Results Key Objective / Overall Job Responsibility

• Zero LTI of contractors to provide technical support on development of internal contractor safety standards or improvements in existing standards.

• 100% compliance to CSM safety standard to provide technical support for the development of internal contractor safety competencies throughout the organization by coordinating and conducting various training, coaching, consulting sessions with line managers

• Zero overdue of CSM observation to improve the contractor safety hazard recognition skills of line management through participation in line walks, CSM audits, Contractor's incidences, contractors training program etc.

• Compliance to CSM std to establish a uniform contractor safety management system across the organisation and ensure CSM standard is implemented

FIELD SAFETY

• Ensure achievement of Safety ABP.

• Ensuring Safety Activities at division are executed as per plan, including the following:

• Completion of Incidents Investigations / Safety Observations are resolved within stipulated timelines and logged in Ensafe.
• Monitor Compliance to Safety Visit Plan for Officers
  
  • Ensure Safety at Business Partner Units in specified Region by ensuring compliance to relevant Safety Standards, Job Hazard Identifications, imparting training to employees as per needs and providing guidance to the units.
  
  
  • Conducting Physical / Virtual Safety Audits to ensure compliance to relevant Safety Standards and ensuring closure of OFIs raised.
  
  
  • Improvement in Safety Rating of Business Partners. Facilitating Contractor Safety Management Audit by External Assessor by ensuring preparedness of Business Partner for Assessment, participation in Assessment and supporting closure of Observations raised.
  
  Ensure decisions / action plans from AICs
  Skills
  Experience in Operations / Maintenance departments or equivalent within the organization.
  Implementation of comprehensive PSM /CSM/Safety standards programs within an integrated steel plant or other industry sector with high hazard operations.

  B. E / B. Tech or equivalent in any field of Engineering and
