Title: - RETAIL MANAGER
Reporting role: - GENERAL MANAGER - OPERATIONS (GMO)
Purpose of the role:
- To ensure the profitable running of the Retail Department and that budgets set are achieved or exceeded.
- To be ever mindful of the laws surrounding the sale of alcohol in a Muslim Country and ensure that Company's reputation in this field remains untarnished and at the highest level.
- To understand and adopt the "ambassador" role that comes with the involvement in a sensitive business.
- Our business is importing alcoholic beverages. We then sell through variety of channels, one of which is a Retail outlet. CEO, has an Importers License in the Kingdom of Bahrain
- We are looking to employ a Retail Manager. The visa status will be single, and the successful applicant will work a 3-month probation period.
- The candidates should have a minimum of 5 years Retail experience preferably in the Liquor business. Maximum age should not exceed 45yrs.
- Attached is a brief summary of the role and a few main activities that are included in a comprehensive job description.
- Time is of the essence. Hence, CEO's visit to Mumbai for interviews will be the first ten days of February 2024.
- Our preference is to have the successful applicant in Bahrain by end of Ramadan 2024.
Main activities:
1. Conduct daily meetings with the Retail Co-ordinator and action as appropriate.
2. Constantly train the Retail Staff in areas of Customer Service and, in conjunction with visiting Principals, their overall product knowledge of Wine & Spirits.
3. Together with Sales and Marketing team, plan, execute and evaluate product - related Retail Promotions on a monthly basis.
4. Closely monitor competitor prices in Mina Salman with regular visits to their shops
5. Written monthly report to be sent to GMO by 3rd working day of following month.
6. Lead the Retail Team by example.
These are just some of the main activities connected to this position.
The Company will provide them with a one-way Economy air ticket from Mumbai-Bahrain. The Company will also provide them with hotel accommodation for the first two weeks whilst they arrange their own.
The Retail shop is open 7 days a week and the Retail Manager will be responsible for its operation. A statutory one day a week (to be agreed with the General Manager, Operations), will be given as time off.
As the Retail Manager position is of single status, most people look for a shared accommodation, approx. BD100 per month. If they choose to find single occupancy flats, it can be approx. BD250 onwards. Other miscellaneous expenses vary from person to person, but food expenses can be around BD100 per month.
The Company will provide an annual air ticket to their hometown upon completion of a year. This would include a 3-month probation period during which either party are free to terminate the contract giving a one-month notice.
