  • Build a comprehensive understanding of our multi-year Finance Modernization initiative and commitments.
  • Focus on emerging Capital Reporting, Basel III Endgame and SCCL reporting requirements under Project Fast Forward as a critical priority for delivery.
  • Work with data-sourcing teams, (e.g. FALCON, FODL and R2CE), to conduct data profiling and mapping activities.
  • Assist in creation of detailed data sourcing plans to address new reporting requirements.
  • Track progress against plans, milestones, and elevate delivery risks.
  • Publish status updates for stakeholders and Program Office.
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are documented, and Technology story points are gathered and groomed to ensure timely and efficient Agile delivery.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure extensive integration and end-user testing activities.
  • Cultivate constructive working relationships with Finance Product and Process Owners, Finance Technology Delivery Leads, Technology Delivery Excellence, Technology Finance, Finance Portfolio Management team, Finance Communications, and other SME’s.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account. Also they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.

This position reports to Matthew Nicholas, Director, Finance Technology Strategy & Program Management and plays a key role on the team evolving and implementing the Finance Technology strategy and overseeing the Finance Modernization effort. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to drive delivery of pan-Finance Technology projects, including Fast Forward, as American Express migrates from a Category IV to Category II regulated Financial Institution, partnering with Technology, Product and Process Owners to deliver our key priorities.

The successful candidate will lead 1 India B30 colleague and direct this resource as needed to achieve our objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of cumulative Finance process and/or product management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Data Management.
  • Demonstrated skills navigating large, complex initiatives, solving problems, and paying attention to critical details.
  • Knowledge of American Express (or large financial institution) Finance systems, operational processes, and interdependencies.
  • Ability to synthesize key messages and organize detailed or voluminous information.
  • Collaborative approach and demonstrated relationship management skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to revise workplans adaptably to meet changing circumstances.
  • Proven proven-solving ability and detail-orientation.
  • Poise and diplomacy working under tight timeframes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or experience with FALCON, FODL, or Regulatory Reporting applications.
  • Experience with detailed data sourcing and applying Data Management principles.
  • Some knowledge of SQL and/or relational database concepts.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and delivery concepts.
  • Desire to acquire people leadership skills.
