Finance Manager (UK Shift)


Our Client is a specialist professional services and Technology Firm working in partnership with leading insurance, highly regulated and global businesses. Over the past ten years, ourclient has grown its annual revenues more than 20-fold, investing heavily in research & development, innovation & automation, colleague development, and client service. Today, the Group serves more than 1,500 insurance, financial services, public sector, and other highly regulated clients.
- Our Client is looking for an experienced Portfolio Finance Manager. The role of the Portfolio Finance Manager is to embed themselves into both the Transformation Team and be responsible for the E2E finance management practice across both Merger and Acquisitions and Business Change Portfolios. You will work closely with the key delivery leads across a diverse range of strategic projects to ensure effective financial governance and reporting are implemented.
- To succeed in this role, you must be proactive and independent and take initiative with consistent follow-through. You must have 10+ years' relevant experience and a professional / master's degree in accounting or finance and strong analytical, financial, and systems skills, including advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills. Additionally, you will need to have a high-level attention to detail and problem-solving skills as well as superior time management skills while working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines. You need to be capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating the ability to create solutions in the financial environment. This role is a full-time, home-based position.
This position services the UK office and hence will be required to work as per the UK timings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for financial management processes and reporting relating to project delivery
- Providing the interface between TO and Central Finance, ensuring consistent application of process and accurate data transfer, identification and resolution of reconciling items and responsible for improving these processes as the business evolves.
- Coordination and facilitation of annual budget planning for the portfolios, including where multi-year projects are concerned, feeding into wider business planning, IMO, IT, Corp Dev and group finance
- Ensuring appropriate accountancy treatment is understood and being consistently applied across portfolio
- Lead on assessing the financial ROI of future investments/initiatives within the portfolios as part of the feasibility process, including the translation of deal and programme financials into Budget set-up and liaison with Group finance
- Continually identify financial risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
- Manage reconciliation activities relating to end-of-project impacts budget vs. actuals,
- Ensure future OpEx impacts associated with project delivery are identified and transitioned to allow tracking beyond the project lifecycle
- Supporting central Finance in the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to senior management
- Validation of detailed analysis versus budget, providing finance forecasting into project management for change request submission process
- Primary liaison with Group Procurement and workstreams to coordinate forecast vs. actuals, reconciling with budget, primary liaison with vendor & contracts relating to any OpEx impacts in business units regarding onboarding / offboarding of suppliers and contracts
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:
- A Professional degree in Finance
- Must have at least five years of experience in a similar role and an overall finance experience of 10 years
- Proficient in financial modelling and data analysis
- Experience (or knowledge / understanding) of CAPEX
- Strong Project Management skillset in a transformation-focused environment via
- Understanding of project management and business change skills
- Understanding of business process and technology change.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable in facilitating and contributing to technical discussions relating to Technical, Regulatory and Financial detail is an advantage.
- Production of high-quality deliverables, including Project Plans, Reports and presentations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative team player.
- Build trusting relationships with all stakeholders.
- Work with colleagues across the Group, including international time zones and local culture.
- Continuous improvement mindset, naturally inquisitive and eager to learn and develop.
- Experience and expertise in delivery of Projects in an Agile environment is an advantage.
