This is a unique opportunity for a detailed oriented, independent worker with strong analytical skills to support the Deloitte Global Finance – DTTL Tax team to learn about and support global initiatives.
Work you will do
- Support Global Tax
- Review U.S. federal, state, and international workpapers and income tax returns. Returns include corporate and partnership filings.
- Assist Senior Manager and Chief Tax Officer with coordination of income tax compliance requirements
- Participate in tax research and planning while working side by side with Global Finance and various Global Businesses.
- Support Global Tax’s response to various requests to the Chief Tax Officer’s team from the Deloitte MFs/PFs
- Project management
- Initiate and work on various project initiatives
- Create and Maintain project support materials, such as project plans, tracking documents, meeting notes and status reports
Teaming- Need to drive teaming and successfully work in a team environment
- Willingness to share learnings and best practices across the broader team
- Able to take a lead role to support and informally counsel analyst and senior level employees
- Ability to work and interact with US and India Finance counterparts at Management levels
Qualifications
Required
- At least 8 years experience in US taxation in Corporate tax (Form 1120) and/or Partnership tax (Form 1065) gained in an accounting/consulting firm, or in industry (‘in house’).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related
- Prior experience in handling US corporate tax, US partnership tax, familiarity with book-tax adjustments (US), familiarity with financial statements and tax provision calculations (GAAP or IFRS) would be highly preferred.
- Prior experience in preparing tax returns in Gosystem would be required
- Proficient to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel/Word/Outlook).
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English
- Team-oriented with the ability to work with colleagues virtually and at different time zones.
- Detail oriented but able to look at the big picture, team player and self-motivated
- Must have the ability to work independently and meet various strict deadlines
- Have strong analytical and communication skills.
- Interested in working on more than just tax compliance.
- Being a rigorous and accurate person and value flexibility.
- Willingness to learn and master tax compliance matters different foreign jurisdictions where Deloitte Global has reporting obligations
