The Head- Credit & Risk will be at the forefront of our credit risk management initiatives. You will be responsible for building credit risk models, driving credit decisions, and ensuring a balance between risk and business growth. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our lending products and processes, ensuring they are built on a solid foundation of prudent risk management.
What You Will Do:
- Credit Decisioning: Build advanced credit risk models and lead critical credit decisions
- Team Collaboration: Provide effective credit oversight to colleagues leading our credit teams
- Risk Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and monitor risk strategies across credit underwriting, limit assessment, pricing, line management, and collections
- Policy Development: Draft a detailed risk policy for the lending business of the company and closely monitor the adherence of the same
- Data Utilization: Identify and evaluate alternate data features to explore credit expansion opportunities
- Culture Building: Instil a strong culture of prudent risk management throughout the team
- Team Development: Coach and mentor younger team members to create a world-class credit team
- Monitoring Systems: Drive robust monitoring and alerting systems for early warning signals of delinquencies in the portfolio, ensuring agility in decision-making
- Product Design: Collaborate with product teams to ensure products are designed with a credit risk perspective
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum 10+ years of Credit & Risk management experience. CA qualification will be preferable
- Experience managing the risk function in a bank / NBFC / Fintech
- Possess significant SME credit experience (B2B)
- Experience across different SME Loan products (Business Loans, FTL, Supply Chain Finance)
- Are a problem solver, with a knack for analytics and data-driven decision-making
- Experience in building credit strategies for new acquisition, loss mitigation, line assignment, collections & recovery using new and alternative data and algorithms
- Strong relationship building, communication (verbal, written) and influencing skills;
