Position Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Bangalore, KA-India
Job Profile Summary
We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team who will have the opportunity to champion our Global Finance Transformation by providing quality analysis from our new Center of Excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity supporting Caterpillar's Integrated Components & Solutions (ICS) Division working with the Hydraulics organization.
This role will not only enhance one’s communication, presentation and financial analysis skills through challenging job responsibilities and regular interaction with local leadership, but also provide opportunities for collaboration and networking across the enterprise.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting management reporting activities for month end closing, P&L/cost analysis, profitability walks, headcount analysis, leadership presentations and results meetings
- Providing technical expertise that supports engineers and project managers in the annual rate setting process, reporting & analysis
- Assisting in the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecast submissions
- Understanding and applying calculations/methodologies to produce variance analysis & commentary/business insights
- Understanding the impact on various corporate initiatives utilising Discount Cash Flow (DCF) method to support decision making
- Gathering & submitting data for R&D tax credits
- Participating in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests
Process Transition & Improvement:
- Performing the tasks related to the transition of the projects in line with COE scope of work, timelines, business requirements and defined metrics/KPIs
- Participating in knowledge transfer sessions, defining and owning the documentation (instruction manuals and scorecards/trackers)
- Partnering with multiple global stakeholders on day-to-day operations
- Identifying and leveraging on tools and technologies to transform processes
- Driving continuous improvement via simplification, standardization and automation
- Embedding change management best practices
Background/Experience/Skills & Capabilities
- Proven experience in financial & management reporting, analysis, FP&A, intercompany, month end processes and DCF
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data, trends and patterns
- Proficiency with large databases and advanced reporting tools such as Power Query and Power BI
- Excellent customer service skills working in a global environment with multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes
- Self-starter, works well independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills
- Experience in process transitions and transformations in a virtual environment
- Ability to quickly learn Caterpillar management reporting methodology and knowledge about products, suppliers, and consumers
- CA, CMA or MBA Finance with 5-7 years of progressive experience
