Department Of Defence: Defence Program Officer

The primary role of Defence is to defend Australia and its national interests in order to advance Australia’s security and prosperity. Australia’s defence policy is founded on the principle of self-reliance in the direct defence of Australia, but with a capacity to do more where there are shared interests with partners and allies.

Under general supervision, the Defence Program Officer is responsible for managing the administration of Defence’s cooperation activities in India and Sri Lanka, in particular the Defence Cooperation Program (DCP). The position is also responsible for the Defence Section’s property and asset management.
