As a Senior Service Engineer on the Azure Storage team, youll work on varied tasks and projects. The primary focus for this role will be to troubleshoot/debug/automate new hardware validation systems which will accelerate the velocity of new hardware enablement. We are part of a massive distributed system so the individual will need expertise in debugging complex multi system issues as well as identifying ways to continuously scale.

Responsibilities- Youll implement high-performance solutions across teams while maintaining a quality checklist with minimal help. Youll also monitor telemetry data and perform analyses to identify patterns that reveal errors and unexpected problems.
- You will respond to incidents by identifying the level of impact, troubleshooting basic issues, deploying the appropriate fixes, and implementing automations to prevent recurring issues. Youll also follow prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- You will collaborate within and across teams by proactively and systematically sharing information. Youll also support your work with others by proactively managing dependencies.
- You will improve the development and operations of systems, platforms, or product features by sharing insights and best practices. Youll do this by participating in design reviews, incident drills and debriefs, and regular meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4 years technical engineering experience in software engineering, network engineering, Service Engineering, or systems engineering with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4 years of experience with storage hardware and networking.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, or PowerShell
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, or PowerShell
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in querying tables in databases, testing, troubleshooting and debugging, working across disciplines, groups, and teams, leading teams and mentoring junior coworkers.
- Hands on knowledge of server hardware and configuration inclusive of HDD, SSD, and advanced ASIC.
- Passion for driving, improving, and helping to implement security and business continuity solutions.
