Why we're hiring:
The role is responsible for co ordinating technical outcomes across the multiple Cloud Engineering disciplines in line with Cloud Hub strategy.
What you'll be doing:
- Influence the technical direction of Cloud Engineering and its services
- Influence cloud consumers to design for cloud and ensure Cloud Engineering capabilities stay in step with WPP technology requirements.
- Ensures cloud solutions and capabilities are efficient, standardized, automated, self-service enabled and compliant with security, operational and financial policies
- Understanding the needs for new initiatives to build scalable, distributed and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions on Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Work with engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
- Use industry knowledge and experience to continuously assess the environment and drive improvements that use the latest technology.
What you'll need:
- Experience provisioning, configuring and maintaining cloud computing services such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Good architecture practice such as the Well Architected Framework
- Experience in migrating in-house services to a public cloud provider
- Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies
- Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills
- Strong, creative problem solving and analytical in nature
- Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious and working well under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines is a must
- A keen interest in new technologies and willingness to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant
- Skilled in building a strong rapport with customer and internal teams including in a managed services environment
