AddressThe investment function has Assets Under Management (AUM) of around USD2bn (Equity USD800mn & Debt1.2mn) and is expected to grow at a brisk pace. The Investment Dealer profile looks after execution and settlement of all the trades in Equity markets. The position involves executing equity purchase/sale transactions at best possible market price and contribute to fund performance. On average transactions of USD100mn (both purchase/sale put together) is carried out on a monthly basis in Equity assets.
- There are 10 distinct portfolios ranging from pure equity funds to hybrid funds for which securities transactions are carried out.
- The number of portfolios and AUM is expected to go up as more products are launched. This profile is responsible for company profitability and growth through efficient dealing execution contributing to investment return generation and AUM growth. Increasingly investments are moving towards midcap companies and with growing AUM the liquidity is a challenge.
- The profile involves taking independent dealing execution decisions entailing buying & selling of securities within the investment mandate and regulatory framework at the best possible market prices. This is a high pressure, time critical job which has to be concluded within market hours and followed up with settlement of trades in co-ordination with the mid-back office.
- The profile involves tracking various time zones studying global developments, global markets, currencies and commodities to correlate and understand how Indian markets will behave. Gathering market intelligence on portfolio holdings and take independent decision on the timing of entry and exit of portfolio securities.
- Monitoring of execution performance vis-a-vis VWAP and outperform the same while complying with regulatory risk management and other internal mandates at all times. Also, new market practices like use of Direct Market Access (DMA) and algorithms to execute deals adds to further complexity but helps reduce intermediation cost adding to fund returns.
- Generating stock ideas and preparing stock report based on technical analysis, having good understanding of Technical Analysis & Fundamental Analysis to better time entry and exit of securities.
- Maintaining MIS is an important part of the profile and involves maintaining MIS for dealing approvals, trades executed, broker business allocation, monitoring performance of industry peers and monitoring of market and stock movements.
