What is the Business Analyst - MDS responsible for?
- Reporting to Supervisor within Market Data Services, the Market Data Business Analyst plays a key role in fulfilling market data requests for Franklin Templeton employees that use market data and research services provided by external third parties and processing invoices issued by those providers. The Business Analyst’s primary responsibility is to provide high-quality customer service and support to employees located in Franklin Templeton offices worldwide, which includes fulfilling services requests and prompt processing of invoices, allocations, updating inventory timely, variance analysis, working with VRMs and APs, etc#ASSOCIATE
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Business Analyst - MDS?
- Establish trust and build strong relationships with border Market Data Team and Franklin Templeton’s Business and provide business unit with market data consumption patterns and spend.
- Set-up and maintain accurate data (inventory) in Financial Information Tracking System (FITS) now called Optimize Spend
- Track, Manage and Execute incoming orders for Market Data Services
- Evaluate, propose, and design tracking systems & applications to meet business needs.
- Reconcile & process vendor invoices for allocation and payment.
- Create and maintain analytics on cost trends, and Franklin Templeton’s consumption of market data products and services.
- Create Ad hoc reports.
- Assist with audits on invoice allocation and payments.
- Maintain good working relationships with team members, internal customers, vendor relationship managers, external service vendors, brokers, and business partners.
- Participate in projects and other tasks as assigned.
- Team Building activities and helping Manager with MIS tools or perform any other duties as requested by Supervisor (weekly status report / Monthly Dashboards etc.,) and any ISC/ IMSS India Initiatives
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 3+ years’ market data industry experience and/or financial services industry experience
- Excellent English communication skills – both written and verbal
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS-Advance Excel with macros & PowerPoint Presentations skills), SharePoint and SQL Knowledge
- Results driven with attention to detail and the ability to move quickly while staying organized.
- Very strong research, problem solving, and communication skills (verbal and written)
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Understanding of business concepts, finance & accounting principles, budgeting, reconciliation.
- Experience with a Market Data inventory management system (FITS, Market Data Manager) a plus.
- Knowledge of market data administration preferred.
Work Shift Timing - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
