We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AssistantVice President - Decision Sciences GSC’S.
What you’ll do:
Role Overview
- The position will report into Vice President of Regulatory Analytics GAC. As a member of the team the AVP will contribute to extending the group modeling and execution methodology, managing regional stakeholders and coaching and mentoring new members of the team. This role forms part of Regulatory Modeling modelling team whose purpose is to support the bank’s IFRS 9 and Stress testing loss provisioning for portfolios within Retail banking. The role will involve hands-on involvement across the modeling life cycle as well as the management and guidance of junior team members. Specific roles and responsibilities will include:
- Operate as a thought leader and visionary, with ability to guide, influence and inspire peak performance within the model development function
- Develop a roadmap to perform regular/annual review of IFRS 9and Stress testing models across products while adhering to the global model governance standards
- Engage with business partners to provide business priorities, present model development activities to various review committees (comprising senior management from various functions within businesses)
- Guide and inspire the team in model development best practices, development of quality model documentation for submission to Internal Model Review, SOX controls Internal Audit and External Audit
- Continuously looking at the environment to challenge assumptions around model development, insight generation, tools, talent, potential partners etc
- Ensure open, transparent, proactive and timely interaction with major stakeholders (subject matter experts, model owner/developers/governance/implementation, portfolio/data management team) in alignment with values and behavior principles
