Job Summary
Responsible for logistics (including imports and exports), distribution and coordinating with the Operations (Warehousing) for the main plant in Bangalore as well as the other branches within India. Coordinates with freight forwarders and clearing agents and Statutory authorities for Import and export.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
IMPORTS
- Verify pre alert import documents with PO in Navision / SAP
- Verify & approve check list
- Arrange for technical write-up, MSDS
- Arrange to obtain Certificate from the Department of Foreign trade (DGFT) for certain category of items - import of Integrated Circuits, Steel, Paper etc.
- Clarify if any query by Customs regarding Harmonised codes, Material and supplier details & others
- Pay Customs duty
- Follow up with Freight forwarder / clearing agent and issue GST documents ( e-way bill ) for movement of materials from Customs to Nordson India
- Submit documents for remittance to suppliers against import bills
EXPORT
- Prepare export invoice & Packing list and other export documents as per Foreign exchange Management Acti, Customs procedures, & inline with Customer purchase order / foreign letter of Credit.
- Ensure to arrange for MSDS for the products from the respective division
- Ensure to collect COO certificate ( Country of origin of goods ) from the supplier of goods
- Co-ordinate with DGFT for COO Certificate
- Co-ordinate with freight forwarder / clearing agent for smooth clearance of goods at Indian Customs
- Follow up to collect Air way bill and Shipping bill of entry / Bill of lading
- Submit proof of export to Bank
Education and Experience Requirements
Qualification
- Degree in Commerce / Supply Chain Management or any relevant field
Experience
- 8 to 10 years - work experience in Similar position in a Manufacturing Industry
- Strong working knowledge of an ERP system; SAP preferred
- Effective communication in English
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining high work quality
- Strong ability to adapt to changes and make balanced decisions despite conflicting demands
- Good character for leadership
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong ability to adapt to changes in statutory regulations.
