Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
Introduction

Minerva results in significant increase in work activities in the intermediate term to produce reporting for the new business divisions. This requires working through impact assessments of the MI views, setting up new processes for the new reporting structure, set up working files for reporting for the new basis of prep. This resource will be redeployed into another role at the end of project requirements. e) changes to Coverage / Client MI views, f) reconciliations to support restate explains on management and Client MI, g) reporting analysis to support for any additional Group requirements:

o Oversee Month End Reporting
o Individual contribution - Support Finance Business Partners/Business on Standard BAU/Ad-hoc
o Projects and Initiatives
o Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.



What will you be doing?
o Ensure adherence to and compliance with governance, risk policies, procedures and compliance policies

o The candidate is expected to be part of Corporate Bank’s reporting team in Chennai and its deliverables which cuts across Corporate banking business. The candidate is required to have a strong understanding about accounting methodologies related to Corporate Banking products and should be able to identify discrepancies (if any).
o It includes managing the existing reporting deliveries and new migration which needs to stabilized over a short period of time.
o Partner business/ finance colleagues in the resolution of critical/complex queries from business especially around monthly movement in financials. Given the legacy nature of the systems there will be many challenging tasks to handle and resolve them efficiently which also requires close interactions with other functional teams.
o To manage new requests from business and formulate structured plan and agree on clear agreement of ownership.
o Identify non-value add tasks; collaborate with wider team to discuss possible solutions for efficient way of doing things. It also requires collaboration with other functional teams such as International Corporate Banking Finance Business Partners, Central BP&A, MI, Finance Control and RDs/Coverage teams.

Reporting
o Support the month-end reporting with effective data accuracy, control and governance in place
o Preparation of variance analysis, ensuring sufficient level of understanding of financial performance
o Publish Business Performance reports with insights on business performance.
o Own and be accountable for the deliverables
o Provide value addition and motivate the team to move up the value chain
o Requires understanding of any restatements, change management and drive methodology changes to address Business or Cluster requirements
o Oversee the delivery of pragmatic business and operational readiness solutions which maximise benefits while achieving the desired business outcomes
o Articulate full and end to end impacts on BAU processes resulting from technology and business change

What we’re looking for:
  • Preferably Charted Accountant or MBA with relevant experience.


Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Advanced Excel skills, proficient in Cognos, Tableau - designing innovative solutions to drive efficiencies and good report presentation skills
