Your Role and Responsibilities
The watsonx.ai team is currently looking for a Data Scientist / Technical Support Professional to help diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex product and configuration issues to ensure our customer's success in using our product.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and perform remote debugging via webEx is essential to success in this role.
The ideal candidate is a fast learner and self-starter, with a good balance of technical and problem-solving skills, combined with a strong desire to help our customers achieve their goals and exceed their project deadlines.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency with Jupyter Notebook
- Analytical mindset
- Ability to work in a dynamic fast pasted environment and continuously learn
- Experience working with Linux/Unix systems
- Experience with docker and running dockerized applications
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong communication and customer relationship management skills
- Work an alternative work week (Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday)
- Participate in weekend pager duty rotation
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Python programming skills
- Machine Learning (Decision Trees, Neural Net, Clustering, SVM and others, supervised & unsupervised and reinforcement learning algorithms) and AI (LLMs, semi-supervised learning)
- Statistics (knowing which tools to use with which type of data)
- Red Hat OpenShift Experience
- Advanced Linux Skills
- Storage Skills (NFS,ODF,OCS)
- Experience with Hadoop
- Database Skills (EDB, DB2, Oracle, MySQL)
