The Position
Roche Diagnostics has created a new start-up business charged with building a modern software stack that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data from medical devices and IT systems within a hospital and intelligently process and present this data to doctors and caregivers to improve patient care.

The Position
Senior Technical Project Manager is a Project Manager role within an engineering organization. Your responsibilities are to work closely and partner with the global engineering leadership team and the cross-functional project teams to deliver product and software releases. The role could also include leading strategic initiatives or other special projects within engineering (e. g. security projects, technology assessments). The candidate should have a strong foundation in agile and be able to also contribute to and lead agile improvements.
Your Opportunity:
SW Project Management: Technical Project management for one or more projects within engineering, responsible for the technical delivery of a software release. The role will be the single point of contact to the project core team and represent engineering, owning technical deliverables, and ensuring engineering is on track
General Technical Project Management: within engineering, taking on special projects and initiatives such as vendor or technology assessments, internal corporate initiatives, continuous improvement projects, resource management, portfolio and roadmap management
Agile Best Practices: Defining best practices within engineering, especially on how we scale agile and software delivery across multiple scrum teams, locations, and projects; act as Scrum Master for 1 or more teams as well as an agile coach for Software and Bioinformatics teams.
Who You Are:
BS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (CS, Eng, etc.)
6+ years of experience in managing agile/scrum development teams
Have successfully managed engineering deliverables for multiple enterprise-scale software development projects from concept to launch
Experience working in large, preferably global, software organizations, working across multiple locations with multiple software directors and managers, and teams to deliver software releases to market
Experience working in an agile environment and leading daily scrum
Have a keen interest in process improvements and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle (from planning to post-production)
Hands-on with reporting and status updating, willing and able to create fit-for-purpose and clear presentations and meaningful dashboards
Strong communication and solution-oriented, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex organizational or technical problems
Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners
Nice to Have:
Hands-on software development experience in either Java or C++/C# is nice to have
Certification in agile such as ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, CSM/CSD, or SAFe.
Experience in healthcare is not required, but familiarity with healthcare systems and data and workflows is a plus (e. g. HL7, IHE)
