Job Overview
Responsibilities
▪ Responsible for developing and qualifying Mold tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standard with applied knowledge of mold design and construction for conditioning, modification, repair, and transfer of injection molds and stamping dies.
▪ Supports existing and implements new manufacturing technologies and methods to improve process and tolerance control.
▪ Documents all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems.
▪ Supports Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability, realizes sample tooling, product samples and prototypes.
▪ Supports NPI to verify supplier identification and capability with vendor visits.
▪ Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
▪ Provides technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel.
▪He / She also enables the manufacturing plants and suppliers to implement Centers of Excellence ideas and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) on mold tool builds, process improvements, and redesign projects.
▪ Designs and develops new manufacturing process and applies these to new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production.
▪ Supports Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts related to planed manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location.
▪ Support research and development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.
▪ Guide the team/leads to fabricate new molds by analyzing drawing prints, sketches, models and or shop specifications and adhering to TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
• BE Mechanical with Tooling background/Post Diploma in Tool Making from NTTF/GTTC/Other reputed institutes.
• Prior Knowledge of Tooling in 3D software.
• 8-10 Years of relevant experience. (Preferably from connector/precision mold making industry)
• 7+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in automotive connector industry related to new product development and maintenance.
• Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly techniques (DFMA), design for cost (DFC)
• Previous experience building and sustaining high-performing multi-disciplinary performing teams.
