Solar Service Engineer Job Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Commissioning: - Install and commission solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and associated electrical components. - Perform on-site inspections, testing, and calibration to ensure proper installation and functionality. - Comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the installation process.
2. Maintenance and Repair: - Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on solar PV systems, including cleaning panels, checking connections, and inspecting components. - Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with solar systems, inverters, or associated equipment. - Perform repairs, replacements, or upgrades on faulty components or outdated systems. - Respond promptly to service calls and resolve system failures or malfunctions.
3. Monitoring and Performance Analysis: - Monitor solar system performance using data acquisition systems and specialized software.- Analyze system output, identify performance issues, and implement corrective measures. - Optimize system performance by adjusting settings, recalibrating components, or recommending system modifications.
4. Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and system performance data. - Prepare and submit detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation. - Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, or internal teams regarding system status and issues.
5. Compliance and Safety: - Ensure compliance with relevant solar industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. - Conduct safety inspections and implement safety measures on job sites. - Provide training to clients or colleagues on safe operation and maintenance procedures.
6. Continuous Learning: - Stay updated with the latest solar technology advancements, industry best practices, and regulatory changes. - Attend training sessions, workshops, or seminars to enhance technical knowledge and skills. - Obtain and maintain relevant certifications or licenses as required by local or industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in a relevant field, such as solar energy technology, electrical engineering, or renewable energy systems.- Solid understanding of solar PV system components, design, and installation principles.- Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols.- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.- Excellent communication and customer service skills.- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites.- Familiarity with relevant software and monitoring tools used in the solar industry.
