As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Banking - Securities Services Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Perform both Automation and Functional Testing for our Data Platform. This will entail regression/reconciliation and new feature testing of the platform during both Continuous Delivery and Quarterly Release phases.
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Perform end to end automated testing with particular focus on data integrity, performance, and presentation quality.
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to Software Engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Knowledge of the Securities Processing business for either Trade Processing or Corporate Actions.
- Experience with swift and xml messages. Schedule and Execute regression cycles daily.
- Execution of Non-Functional regression testing to ensure the resiliency and performance of the system. Understand operational processes in order to provide solutions which improve operational efficiency.
- Experience of working in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. Ability to understand and use efficient Defect management, regular view of test coverage to identify gaps and provide improvements.
- Hands- on experience with automated testing using Java. Very good understanding of test automation frameworks.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Java and Selenium is good to have.
- Basic UNIX scripting.
- Excellent SQL knowledge.
- Continuous Integration (CI) , exposure to GIT, Jenkins.
