About the team
As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for and maintenance of WorldPay’s business critical payment systems. You will be part of a highly skilled global team utilizing a follow the sun model. You will learn all aspects of each mainframe disciplines with a view to becoming an SME in any chosen discipline at a future date. You will need to be a quick thinker who reacts to adverse situations in a timely manner and must have excellent team/communication skills.
What you will be doing
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mainframe Support Engineer to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for providing troubleshooting, repair and escalation of issues affecting the Worldpay Services in line with agreed SLA’s utilizing the ServiceNow platform.
- You will also be responsible for deployment, architecture, patching and maintenance of IBM Mainframe Automation and monitoring tools.
- Collaborating with the key stakeholders to provide clear communication about the status of any technical related issues and changes.
- Work with team members and other groups to design and implement sophisticated Mainframe Automation to ensure high availability.
- Identify automation opportunities across the mainframe estates and implement these improvements.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written, are very important.
- Cross train team members, end users, including operators and technical teams.
- Act as a role model for technical competence, helpfulness, facilitation of learning and Teamwork.
- Good understanding of service call management systems and monitoring software.
What you bring
- 4+ years of working in an engineering / analyst role across a mainframe environment.
- Configure, administer, and operate: IBM System Automation for z/OS, IBM Netview for z/OS
- Programming Skills: Operational commands, MVS & USS commands
- TSO/ISPF Administer, and Operate: IBM System Automation for z/OS, IBM Netview for z/OS
- Operational commands, MVS & USS commands
- Additional: TSO/ISPF, JES2, GDPS, SDSF.
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices
Added bonus if you have experience in below-
• Assembler Programming, XML Programming
• IBM OMEGAMON configuration, IBM TEP situations
• ISPF dialog programming, SMPE
• CA OPSMVS programmer
• ASG TMON - administrator
• Experience of working in Financial Services.
