Nielsen's audience measurement team is seeking a highly skilled backend developer who is passionate about data and cutting-edge technologies.
In this role, you will collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Operations teams to ensure that our software is built according to specifications and with the highest quality. We are looking for a self-driven candidate with a desire to understand our unique business and the technical challenges it presents. You should be able to manage special projects from start to finish.

Requirements- Technical skills
- A degree in computer science or equivalent
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in server-side development on complex projects
- Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Servers and related services
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Spark, Scala, Java, Python, and SQL
- Good knowledge of RDBMS, database design, and query optimization techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good command of English (verbal and written)
- Willingness to provide support as needed on weekends and evenings
- A team player
- Ability to turn user stories and concepts into scalable systems
- Self-starter who can drive projects forward
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and effectively manage priorities
- Brings fresh ideas and out-of-the-box thinking to projects

- Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, data warehousing concepts, and distributed systems principles
- Knowledge of big data processing and query technologies like Hadoop and Hive is a plus
- Working knowledge of version control systems like GitLab, clear understanding of Gitflow workflow, and familiarity with the overall CI/CD process
