Job Title:             Senior Lead Professional, Business Analyst

Who will you be working with?


Wabtec is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services. Whether it's freight rail, transit, mining, industrial or marine, our expertise, technologies, and people - together - are accelerating the future of transportation. We are looking for Business Analysts with requirement collection, documentation experience and the proven ability of Agile process. The RailDOCS Product team is involved in building software systems for Railroad Wayside Tests, Inspections, Time management and configuration management.


How will you make a difference?


As a member of the Signaling and System group/division, you will be responsible for Business Analysis, documentation training and coaching. Document industry standard requirement documentation and user manuals. Groom the engineering team on requirements and manage backlogs. As a member you will report to your manager periodically on progress, product improvements, risks and process improvements.


What do we want to know about you?


You must have:


  • A Master’s degree/Bachelors in a computer science or computer engineering or ECE/IT/IS/STEM.


  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in documenting business requirements to a medium or large-scale organisation for both IT and business applications.


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Stake holder communication and customer feedback management.


  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.


  • Effective business requirement gathering and management skills.


  • Ability to use tools to model processes as part of requirements gathering.


  • Demonstrate expert level skill in feature decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.


  • Experience in using Microsoft Office tools, Rally, drawing tools like Pencil, SmartDraw, Visio etc.


  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.


  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills


  • Ability to provide demos, mentor and coach


  • Experience in working with global teams and managing discussions in different time zones.


  • Must be willing to travel to customer site as required 15% or less.


We would love it if you had:


  • Experience in working in the Transport Domain.


  • Working knowledge of Railroad Operations.


  • Conceptual Knowledge of any programming language, SQL, System design and release process


  • Experience as a Technical Writer


What will your typical day look like?


  • Translate business needs into quality requirements for stakeholders and project teams.


  • Define solution boundaries and scope of the deliverables.


  • Own and manage requirements during the development life cycle.


  • Elaborate requirements into Features and User Stories, including strong definitions, acceptance criteria and requirement traceability.


  • Ensure Development team Features and User Stories meet DoR & DoD


  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories.


  • Establish and manage roadmap for features and non-functional requirements.


  • Understand security and compliance requirements.


  • Conduct analysis on current and future desired state.


  • Facilitate meetings / workshops with stakeholders to review requirements, deliverables, issues, and risks.


  • Coordinate closely with scrum master and application development team.


  • Produce training and other supporting documentation.


  • Identify and define any areas of improvement.


  • Brief leadership and the customer on plans and status of the team(s)


  • Prepare for and participate in program increment (PI) planning sessions. As part of PI planning interact with all the development teams and POs to identify and plan for dependencies.


  • Represent the business throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are met, tested, and implemented successfully.


  • Actively participate on the continuous improvement of the business analysis methodology.
