Roles & Responsibility
- The main requirement of this position is a Process Metallurgist for copper smelting
- Application of metallurgical process fundaments & engineering aspects for further improvement in process design, refractory life and operating practices through modeling and high temperature experimentation
- Hypothesis validation & model tuning through Plant trials & experimental work
- Interpretation of experimental, modeling results & plant data for root cause analysis.
- Deliver technical solution through developmental R&D program.
- Scientific & technical ideation & scoping of new R&D projects.
- Publications and Presentations in referred journals and conferences.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from the IIT or other recognized university in Metallurgical Engineering with good academic and professional work experience in CFD modeling.
Work Experience: 0 to 2 years
Desired skillsets: Process Metallurgy (smelting, converting, refining), Process Modeling, CFD, Thermodynamics
Must have
- Strong research background in Process Metallurgy (Ferrous /non-ferrous) or in Chemical engineering
- Knowledge in Process modeling, thermodynamics, and reaction kinetics
- Problem-solving capability
- Willingness to work in a team
- Willingness to stay for a longer stay at the plant for data collection, trial, and implementation
- Communication skills related to project and team management
Good to have
- Programming & Data analytics skills
- Knowledge of Material characterization techniques
