The Associate Information Scientist reports to the Information Science Manager and is responsible for analysing the quality of data provided by our customers. This may and will include creation and maintenance of thesauri, providing in-depth analysis regarding different fields of metadata such as keywords, descriptions and titles and enhancing customers’ metadata in order to provide the best possible recommendations.
IMP Note: This position specifically works at analyzing data from an Information Science point of view, i.e. this is NOT a data science position.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and enhance metadata coming from entertainment industry catalogues from all around the world to establish the right strategy to deliver the best recommendations for projects.
- Analyse customer’s metadata to identify any issues that have an impact on the quality of the recommendations and providing detailed reports.
- Contributing to the extensive documentation of the Information Science Department.
- Being able to liaise with different stakeholders including customers.
• Contributing to the building and evolution of our in-house controlled vocabulary.

- Knowledge about organisation of knowledge.
- Knowledge of classification & cataloguing, thesauri for information retrieval and/or indexing and data management.
- Knowledge of a second language.
- Experience in developing taxonomies and thesauri.

Qualifications & Certification
BLISC, DLISC or Postgraduate degree (MSc, PhD, PGDip, etc.) in information science, information management, information and library studies or related discipline.
