This position will be a key role in the organization, handling Safety Officer for the purpose of Statutory norms and functioning as EHS personnel for the purpose of the organization. He/She will be key driver of strategy execution of EHS policies & practices of Eaton including MESH and other safety related policies. "
- To advise the concerned departments in planning and organizing measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries
- To advise on safety aspects in all job studies and to carryout detailed job safety studies of selected jobs
- To check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personal injuries
- To advise the purchasing and stores departments in ensuring high quality and availability of personal protective equipment
- To advise on matters relating to carrying out of plant safety inspections
- To carry out plant safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by workers and to render advise on measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions by workers
- To render assistance on matters relating to reporting and investigation of industrial accidents and occupational diseases
- To investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents
- To render assistance for the cases of industrial diseases contracted and in respect of dangerous occurrences reportable under rule 96 of the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950
- To render assistance on the maintenance of such records as are necessary relating to accidents, dangerous occurrences, and industrial diseases
- To promote setting up of safety committees and act as adviser and catalyst to such committees
- To organize in association with the concerned departments/ campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedure
- Responsible for ISO 14001/45001 - all activities involved in it
- To design and conduct either independently or in collaboration with the training department, suitable training and educational programe for the prevention of personal injuries and for the propagation of safety awareness
- MESH Program by Eaton to be managed and audits related to EHS to be attended to.
- Coordinating with Pollution Control Board for all CTE/CTO/Regular compliances etc"
Qualifications:
- BE/Mtech- Industrial Safety
- Min 4-6 years as Safety Officer
Skills:
- Use of MS office, fluent in Hindi and English
- Good communication, organize and team player.
