Role Summary:
The Financial Controller will play a critical role in our finance department, responsible for overseeing the company's financial health. This position involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, as well as ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. The Financial Controller will work closely with senior management to advise on financial implications of business decisions and to develop strategies to improve financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly MIS, and annual financial reports.
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Liaise with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and financial modeling.
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations, and manage financial audits.
- Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate financial processing and reporting.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Streamline accounting processes and financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CA, CFA, or other relevant certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years in finance management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and statutory legislation.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
