- The Head Manufacturing of Pune has to support the top management to ensure the achievement of the operational goals of the plant as well as the implementation of the Group
- Manufacturing strategy at the plant. Operational excellence has to ensures compliance with all relevant policies, including production, inspection, quality, storage, maintenance, environment, health & safety, resources, and security.
- She/he is supporting the team for meeting production schedules, shipping schedules, maintaining quality, controlling manufacturing costs, implementing continuous improvement and promoting good employee and community relations.
- Represent the plant interests locally to outside parties and in forums.
The key expectations from this role would include:
Manufacturing :
- Define with the top management the plant Budget in line with the manufacturing rules and Ensure adequate operations budgets are established - under close cooperation with Group Manufacturing management - and make sure budgetary limitations are respected.
- Create plans to support the short and long-term growth of the business and deliver on financial commitments and maintain effectively cost controls, capital and assets
- Implement and Lead Operational excellence initiatives for all the operations at the plant and linked with other functions in the company.
- Responsible for maintaining quality policies and for increasing the plant quality performance to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of products and services.
- Is responsible for the safety and security of all employees in the facility and ensures that plant safety rules are followed and HSE guidelines for the group are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all Hager Group policies and procedures at the plant.
- Overall responsibility for the proper utilization and maintenance of Plant assets and property.
- It maintains regular relations with the representative bodies of the staff in order to maintain a constructive social climate.
- Strong ability to work in a Matrix organization especially in a MNC set-up.
- Represent the plant interests locally to outside parties and in forums.
Planning and Process Compliance:
- Lead Sales and Operations Planning Process with supply chain and Plant management and coordinate plant activities to ensure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in the timely and cost-effective manner by using continuous improvement of production efficiency, lean process management and facilitate innovation.
- Lead and implement Lean Production Processes at the Plant in accordance with group Hager Production Systems (HPS).
- Lead the change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of new processes as when required.
People Planning & Development:
- He/She support the leader on management and motivation of all employees, temporary workers and Unions , if any, training and coordination of the entire team both externally and internally with the timely implementation of Hager's HR tools e.g. PDI, competencies etc.
- Maintain a healthy working relationship with the Union, if any, to ensure smooth operations at the plant.
- Ensure a positive and safe work environment at the plant for all the people at the plant especially women.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of leaders to support planned/unplanned succession needs.
- Mentor and Coach the team to enhance their capabilities and to develop talent within.
- Ensure employees are skilled and trained according to latest standards.
- Provide strong leadership to Department Managers in order to ensure proper performance of duties and achievement of assigned objectives with a high level of reactivity to handle deviations.
- Energize employees and involve them to make Hager Group a great place to work.
- Ensure effective communication within the organization to keep all employees informed about KPI's status and targets.
Systems & Tools:
- Ensure compliance to systems and process for managing plant activities and for other activities related to functioning of the plant.
