PURPOSE OF THE ROLE / FUNCTIONAL CONTEXT:
Manager Logistics links the Supply Chain from the Customer Center to manufacturing plant (PC) and from manufacturing plant until Customer Center (CC). Manager Logistics is responsible for ensuring that the Supply Chain is aligned with customer expectations and ensures PC responds to changes in customer demands.
The basic purpose of this role is to work with internal stakeholders to ensure that optimum customer service, distribution and speed-to-store will be achieved. Manager Logistics provides a critical link between Demand Planning and Production and Materials Planning and Logistics team to ensure alignment. Manager Logistics generates growth and profitability opportunities by focusing on Total delivered cost, improve customer service and implement process innovation. Manager Logistics contributes to the ongoing development of best practices across the Supply Chain and Manufacturing and Procurement organizations and ensures that collaborative Supply Chain initiatives are agreed, developed and executed with excellence.
Strategic higher level leadership and functional/technical skills are required to support large/complex relationships. Will also be responsible for developing capability of team members to effectively manage the activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning:
- To Prepare and hold S&OP meeting, distribute Invoicing Plan and Master Production schedule.
- Re planning of customer order for production based on urgent needs - only on emergency.
- Regular communication with production about deliveries and communication with customer in case of delay.
- Overall responsibility for order/delivery updating in Movex.
- On time delivery of products to customers basis Divisional Target.
- To reach Divisional Target for Availability for SAC 1 Products.
- To reach over all inventory levels for the Plant as per the divisional targets.
Traffic:
- Overall responsibility of Traffic.
- Responsible for selection of freight forwarders based on customer requirement.
- Coordinating with Customs House Agents for Export shipments - when needed.
- Ensuring least logistics cost for both inbound and out bound freights ensuring correct process of evaluation of CHA, freight forwarders etc. by proper contractual agreements.
Inventory Management:
- Regular follow-up of finished stock availability
- Scrapping
- Managing stock basis Historical Demand and Marketing Inputs
- Guiding stock take and cycle count
- Reporting of key performance indicators
- To reach over all inventory levels for the Plant as per the divisional targets
Reports:
- Sustainability Reporting.
- Preparing periodical Sales & Orders reports for internal analysis.
IMS:
- Responsible for Corrective and Preventive actions.
- Responsible for implementing the IMS for logistics.
Order Administration:
- Overall Responsibility of customer orders.
- Coordinating with customers on various order related queries, terms and conditions, regulations etc.,
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Educational: B. Tech – Mechanical / MBA / PG Materials Management.
Experiential:
- 10+ years of experience in Logistics / supply chain function.
- Preferably 3-4 years of relevant experience in Logistics Role in managerial capacity.
Functional Skills:
- Customer and Supplier Relationship Management skills.
- High end skills in inventory management.
- Designing and implementing Distribution network, Route planning and Warehouse management.
- Warehousing and Transportation execution.
- Meticulous in data recording and analysis.
- Effective negotiation & influencing skills
- Good working knowledge of ERP (infor M3 preferred) and MIS.
