Job Snapshot
MindTickle inhouse legal team is looking for a smart, self-motivated and result oriented legal professional who has experience in reviewing SaaS, Cloud, Licensing Agreements.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements relating to software companies in India with a global presence in US and EMEA, basic knowledge of software contracts, licensing, privacy and security, and will have experience partnering with sales and procurement teams to close sales contracts and procurement contracts within reasonable business deadlines.
This position requires a team player, with a growth and learning mindset to partner with and counsel internal clients with minimal supervision in a fast-growing environment.
What's in it for you?
- Compliance:
- Update the companies policies for PoSH, ABAC, AML, Code of Conduct etc. based on regulatory changes and keeping them updated in SOC2 format (or similar format received from Mindtickle InfoSec team). Work with HR for annual refresh of mandatory training related to the policies.
- Coordinate with the company’s external labor law and corporate law consultants to ensure compliance with applicable requirements of labor laws and corporate laws.
- Global and India Insurance Policies- Assist with renewal process, Data Collection and submission.
- Assist with IPR matters related to Trademark and patent as and when required.
Legal:- Outbound and Inbound Contract Review, Drafting and Negotiation.
- Analyze risks and strategic opportunities from a business and legal perspective with a view toward creating long term solutions
- Improve/develop standard form agreements and legal processes, as necessary
- Exercise good judgment in making legal and business decisions while providing contract interpretations and guidance to internal business teams
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations) in order to resolve legal and business challenges
- Assist with updating contract summary in SFDC or any CMS tool used by the Company from time to time. Create data dashboards from the contractual obligations captured in SFDC/ CMS.
- Assist and coordinate with third party consultants in compliance related activities for MindTickle India
- Report to Senior Legal Counsel based in Pune
We'd love to hear from you, if you:
- Have done LLB from a recognized law school in India (LLM / CS is an added advantage, not mandatory)
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, good negotiation skill, able to understand business requirements and ability to prioritize conflicting demands
- Own 7-10 years of in-house legal experience in contract review and negotiation, with a solid knowledge of commercial and contract law and US revenue recognition principles. SaaS licensing negotiations experience is a plus.
- Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate effectively and gain trust and confidence of stakeholders.
- Are able to work as a team member in a scalable, autonomous and accountable manner, demonstrating flexibility across deal types and time zones.
- Are willing to work in flexible shifts at quarter ends as per business needs.
