Responsibilities Include:
· Designing, modifying, developing, writing and implementing software programming applications for target system using agile methods.
· Writing source codes for new applications, and/or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications.
· Utilizing automated testing tools to perform the testing and maintenance.
· Competent to perform HCL eCommerce v 9.1.*, Java, J2EE programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.
· Build new features on HCL Commerce leveraging out of the box components as well as extending/customizing where necessary to meet business needs.
· Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution.
· Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
· Works independently on proof of concepts for new framework/technology/complex solutions.
· Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features.
· Mentor and assist Software Engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed.
· Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
· Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
· Communicate with others to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness.
· The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Based on past experiences and knowledge, the incumbent normally works independently with minimal management input and review of end results.
· The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems that may not be obvious. The incumbent solves problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.
· Sets priorities and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results.
· Participates/Drives brainstorming sessions focused on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated.
· Take Architectural decisions for the WCS API led the development.
· Interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle
· Work on creating high-level design and lead architectural decisions.
Basic qualifications:
· Position requires a four-year degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
· 12+ years of software development experience.
· 9+ years of experience in being Lead/developer for HCL eCommerce based implementations.
Top candidates will also have p roven experience in many of the following:
o Experience in HCL Commerce/IBM WebSphere Commerce Server (WCS) Version 9.x from requirements analysis through architecture/design, development, and deployment
o Knowledge of developing APIs and customizations of WCS 9 Headless commerce
o Strong Knowledge and hands-on Skills expertise in one or more of the subsystems like Order, Catalog, Member, payment etc.
o Strong understanding and hands-on experience in WCS key concepts like REST, SOAP, SOA, BOD and Name-value etc.
o Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.
o Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to eCommerce applications.
o Developing software applications using relational databases, Such as Oracle
o Application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.
o Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs, Deploying, and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
o Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum)
o Experience in code repository software like GIT.
o Writing complex SQL queries with relational databases such as Oracle.
o Hands on experience with API tools such as SOAP UI, Swagger, Postman and Assertible
o Test driven development and behaviour driven development.
o Datastores such as Redis, Elasticsearch, Lucid search, Oracle etc.
o Debugging and maintaining software in CloudWatch platforms.
o Team player, share knowledge, improve processes and develop systematic solutions to problem patterns.
o Strong problem solving and solutions skills.
o Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
o Demonstrated leadership on small to medium-scale projects impacting strategic priorities.
o Must demonstrate solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.
Nice to have:
· UI, cross browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
· Experience writing API proxies on platforms such as Apigee Edge, AWS API Gateway or Azure API Gateway.
· Understanding and hands-on experience in GraphQL.
· Experience in application monitoring tools such as Dyna Trace or App Dynamics
· Experience in code quality tools like Sonar Qube & Fortify
· Hands on experience on Azure pipeline customizations.
· Experience on load testing tools such as JMeter etc.
Experience in JavaScript frameworks such as React JS, jQuery and Dojo.
