How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Design of buildings.
• Seismic assessment/design of structures.
• Impact/crash assessment of concrete and steel structures.
• Industrial & Nuclear industry experience preferable.
• Design to applicable codes and standards.

You will also be expected to demonstrate the following qualities:

• Professional approach.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Commercial awareness.
• Team working, being comfortable working in international teams.
• A sound understanding of structural analysis methods and structural/building design including applicable codes and standards.
• Quick learner.
• Able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing. Fluent in English language.
• Able to identify the key issues/information associate with a task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ensure projects are delivered to Atkins internal quality standards and processes and industry standards within cost schedule and quality constraints.
• Gather and maintain all criteria to ensure that the work meets all requirements.

Tools:

• Experience of finite element software packages (ABAQUS or ANSYS)
• Experience of structural software tools (i.e. TEDDS)

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in structures .

What will you contribute?

• Graduate or Post-graduate Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Experience of structural/building design and analysis.
• Experience of working within nuclear industry or similar highly regulated safety led industry.
