UnspecifiedOverview: In this role, the Lead Engineer will actively participate in design, development, improvement and/or sustenance of Aircraft Evacuation Systems and its components. Provides onsite technical support to operations in Bengaluru. Collaborates with Engineering and Operations cross functional teams in India and USA.Position: Lead Engineer - Mechanical Design (P2)Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in Engineering Change Management Process – Teamcenter.
- Provide onsite technical support to Evacuation Systems Operations in Bengaluru (Site1 – Whitefield and Site4 – Aerospace SEZ).
- Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, regulatory requirements, and cost.
- Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings, sketches.
- Create 2D pattern drawing by extracting surface data from 3D models.
- Working knowledge on CAD application – CREO 8.0
- Proficiency in CAD software (2D) – AutoCAD, keycreator and other CAD (3D) – Catia, Unigraphics is desired.
- Experience on CI – Lean and/or 6 sigma / Root Cause Analysis
- Should have knowledge in GD&T (ASME 14.5).
- Work experience on PLM tool – Teamcenter, SAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Communicates with business units in USA (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance)
- Team player with good interpersonal skills to work with cross functional team from Engineering, Operations and US customers.
- Attention to details to ensure high quality work for customers.
- 4 to 6 years of Industry experience in Engineering Change Management, Sustenance Engineering, Redesign, CAD Activities and Manufacturing process.
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design
- Experience in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Process
- Minimum 4 years experience in CAD application – Creo 8.0
- Knowledge on machine design, materials and manufacturing processes
- Sound Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals and experience on manufacturing problem solving.
- Background check required (every external new hire in the India)
