Responsibilities
• Independently execute on Aero Design of aviation and aero-derivative gas turbine combustors, supporting overall engine development program• Perform hi-fidelity CFD analysis to meet combustor aero performance requirements• Contribute to development and improvisation of design methodologies• Work with a cross-functional team to understand performance shortfalls and propose design solutions• Perform 2D/3D CFD modelling of combustors to evaluate/propose new designs and understand impact on performance• Lead and demonstrate engineering problem solving and decision making• Release down-selected designs or solution strategies for testing• Work with team members of varied experience and provide guidance as required• Strive for continuous improvement of design processes and tools• Use engineering judgment and propose solutions outside of set parameters
Requirements
• Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with relevant industry experience or PhD degree in combustion sciences with industry or post-doc experience• Proficiency in combustion/aero-thermal CFD modelling• Suitable competency in commercial CFD tools, solid modelling tools, 1D flow and reactor networks, and programming tools like C/C++• Strong gas turbine and numerical methods fundamentals with exposure to aerodynamic design or test support• Humbleness, transparency, focus, leadership ability, problem-solving skills
