Development, update and implementation of group level sustainability, EHS assurance system

1. To assess the level of development  of sustainability management systems designed by each business to meet the Group  standards, policies and management expectation which in turn will lead to meeting international standards

1. Support in development of the Management Standards and Guidance Documents as a part of the ABG Sustainability Framework. 
2. Support in development of Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQ) against the Technical Standards (TS) and Management Standards (MS) as developed by the Subject Mater Experts (SME).
3. Understand the key sustainability / materiality issues of the businesses and incorporate the same in the assurance process 
4. Use the SAQs to further update and develop ABG Sustainability Assurance Process (ABGSAP) tool and its customized applicability to ABG businesses, basis the understanding from point #3 above. 

1. To assess in detail the level of implementation of the above written management systems.

1. Review and validation of the Self Assessments made by the businesses through on site and off site verifications
2. Lead Sustainability assurance team, either it could be internal or external (third party)
3. Work with businesses and prepare annual assurance /audit plan and execute
4. Ensure timely sharing and follow-up on findings from the verification, assurance reports

1. To assess the level of legal compliance followed by each Business and Units.

1. Support in development of MS on Legal Compliance and ABG Sustainability Framework Conformity Management.
2. Support through evaluation the level of legal compliance in number of businesses/countries, working closely with the legal teams at group and businesses
3. Support on closing the gaps by working through relevant SMEs at group and businesses.

Use of assurance system findings and digital tools for internal communication

To communicate with the Businesses and the Group’s management and Sustainability Committee on the progress of implementation of the ABG Sustainability Framework at each business   and   site      including

specific recommendations          for improvement.

1. Updating management reporting system on the implemented sustainability frame work.
2. Development/ update of key performance bench mark data base for business/sector.
3. Put together the communication to BRCs, other committees on progress on relevant sustainability KPIs and systems.

Capability and capacity building

Develop an expert assurance team at  the Group level and coach the individual businesses to build their own sustainability assurance teams.

1. To support in developing systems and training program to qualify assurance providers within the group and businesses. 
2. To develop number of qualified assessors within business.
3. Train selected auditors (internal / third party) on ABG Sustainability framework (Policies, TS, MS & GN) and on ABG Assurance tool

Digital for Sustainability

Use of digital tool for ESG performance, data management

1. Use and upkeep of ENABLON as EHS data management system
2. Use of digital tools and platforms for ESG data management, performance monitoring, reporting and verification
