Qualifications: Engineering graduate with a post-graduate qualification in Operations or Supply Chain Management
Exp : 15 -20 years experience including at least 10 years at a managerial level with responsibility for managing Supply Chain & Purchase function at plant level.
Note : The candidate should be from engineering or manufacturing industries, or steel plant having managed procurement of scrap and alloys
Head Supply Chain Management - Metallurgy Division
- The incumbent will be responsible for developing short-mid-and long-term strategy and execution of AOP.
- He/she would lead the operations in inbound and outbound logistics, purchasing & procurement, Production planning & control and subcontracted operations.
- Organizing and optimizing the material and finished goods storage, streamlining the upstream (suppliers) and downstream (customers) distribution to deliver highest productivity and ensuring the cycle of purchasing runs efficiently to deliver the best solutions for the company. Responsible for negotiating supplier contracts, creating, and analyzing bids and making recommendations as to how to grow and improve the business through strategic sourcing.
- Responsible for the oversight of the Supply Chain Management, Contract Manufacturers activities
- Should have exposure of sale of scrap, by proper bidding process.
- Effectively manage supplier selections to meet quality, service, delivery, and cost parameters to meet the organisation requirements.
- Ensure just-intime delivery of material to meet customer demand.
- To formulate and manage the entire process of distribution from ordering to receiving and preparation to delivery.
- Lead inventory right sizing initiatives.
- Maintain systems to ensure inventory optimization and appropriate replenishment strategies.
- Collaborate with production and operations departments in planning activities to deliver products on time.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing and Finance and externally with all the suppliers and service providers.
- Apply necessary continuous improvement tools to streamline efficiency and effectiveness of Supply Chain activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production to establish corrective actions regarding supplier/vendor related issues.
- Negotiating commercial terms with suppliers Lead the transformation of the Supply Chain operation in line with or ahead of the demands of our businesses.
- Reviewing and improving margins freight and duty
- Should have exposure to Quality Management Systems
