Senior Learning and Development Head - FMCG Industry
Location: Lusaka
Experience: 8 yrs.+
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Learning and Development Head with a minimum of 8 years of core experience, particularly within the FMCG industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and enhancing the learning and development initiatives to optimize employee performance in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Learning and Development:
- Direct and conduct needs assessments for training and staff development, aligning initiatives with company objectives.
- Identify and integrate best practices and lessons learned into comprehensive program plans.
2. Training Program Design and Development:
- Design and develop impactful HR training programs for both management and employees.
- Create learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans to ensure effective training delivery.
3. Performance Review and Development Framework:
- Build a culture of performance across the organization by overseeing and developing the Performance Review & Development framework.
- Strategically link all Learning and Development activities to organizational needs, performance reviews, and business planning processes.
4. Leadership Development and Coaching:
- Develop a leadership development framework to maximize leadership capabilities.
- Embed a coaching culture to support the achievement of strategic outcomes.
5. HR Strategy and Budget Management:
- Provide strong functional knowledge of all aspects of human resource management in alignment with overall business goals.
- Design and manage the annual HR budget, ensuring optimal resource utilization for effective outcomes.
6. Talent Management and Succession Planning:
- Track staff movement, attrition, and vacancies, ensuring timely and effective hiring.
- Develop and implement talent succession plans for critical roles.
7. Employee Engagement and Diversity & Inclusion:
- Drive initiatives to maximize employee engagement, including annual surveys and exit interviews.
- Scope, develop, and lead the implementation of the organization's Diversity & Inclusion Strategy.
8. Compliance and Employee Relations:
- Ensure 100% adherence to statutory compliances.
- Handle grievance resolution for employees at the headquarters and field force.
9. Strategic Analysis and Reporting:
- Provide high-level analysis of key people data and trends.
- Offer strategic advice based on insights into the broader business environment.
10. Event Coordination and Corporate Initiatives:
- Arrange and coordinate corporate events/programs.
- Drive and lead the agenda on employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- MBA/PGDM in HR from a reputed institute.
- Preferably experienced in start-up companies or organizations with an employee-centric culture.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical thinking skills.
- In-depth understanding of People functions and practices.
- Proven experience in the FMCG industry with at least 8 years of core experience.
