Flood Risk Modeller

Educational Qualifications:

BE BTech from in civil engineering and postgraduate in Water Resource management, from institute of repute

Hydrology Knowledge:

• Understanding of hydrological processes, including rainfall-runoff modeling.

• Proficiency in using hydrological models such as HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar tools.

Hydraulic Knowledge:

• Good competency in hydraulic modeling software like HEC-RAS, MIKE Flood, or similar platforms.

• Ability to simulate river and floodplain hydraulics

.GIS Proficiency:

• Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data analysis and visualization.

• Familiarity with GIS software like ArcGIS or QGIS.

Data Analysis:

• should have data analysis skills for processing and interpreting hydrological and meteorological data.

• Experience in statistical analysis for Flood Risk assessment.:

• Ability to assess Flood Risks, including floodplain mapping and identification of vulnerable areas.

• Knowledge of flood hazard zoning and flood damage estimation.

Climate Change Adaptation:

• Understanding of climate change impacts on Flood Risk and adaptation strategies.

• Understanding of climate modeling or access to climate projection data.

Communication Skills:

• Effective communication to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

• Report writing and presentation skills.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in flood modeling and management.

Continuous Learning:

• Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in flood modeling techniques and technologies.

Responsibilities:

Designing and modeling

Assistance in preparation of various reports
