Brief on the Organization:
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.
About IIPH-Bhubaneswar
Indian Institute of Public Health, Bhubaneswar (IIPH-B) commenced its academic activities from August, 2010 in the state of Odisha. A key objective of the Institute has been to implement the vision of Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) by linking public health advocacy, teaching, research and public health practice. Indian Institute of Public Health, Bhubaneshwar is one of the five campuses that come under the umbrella of PHFI. It is a regional hub of public health education and research for the eastern region of the country. IIPH-Bhubaneswar is closely working with Govt. of Odisha in providing technical inputs and handholding support to strengthen the public health delivery system and development of public health cadre in the state of Odisha. Faculties at IIPH Bhubaneswar are among the common pool of PHFI training division for providing trainers to facilitate various workshops and training programs.
- Establish and implement library policies and procedures
- Assist in preparing the budget for the library
- Develop, organize and maintain library collections to meet the demands of specific user groups
- Ensure a current and accurate inventory of library materials (Both Manual & Electronic)
- Maintain records and prepare statistical and analytical reports (Excel Reports)
- Guide users regarding internet resources
- Train users in the discovery and management of information
- Promote awareness of research resources, library services and learning opportunities and making sure all users can access library resources
- Responding to requests from students, staff and other library users
- Develop and maintain relationships with external bodies such as vendors and suppliers
- Ordering books, journals and other resources
- Cataloguing and keeping track of library materials
- Advising academics on materials for their courses
- Generating annual usage report for institutional library
- Taking required measures for annual library audit
- Managing and handling the orientation of new employees
- Managing the employees’ data of each department
- Filing statutory govt. & legal returns related to HR Management & labour legislation
- Creating job descriptions for various roles and advertising them on various platform
- Managing HR activities like meetings, interviews, and other schedules
- Assisting the recruitment process by reviewing CVs and shortlisting candidates
- Carry out any other task that may be assigned by Supervisor & Director-IIPHB, from time to time.
Essential:
- Post-Graduation with specialization in Library Science / Library Information Management or Graduation in any discipline with Diploma / PG diploma in Library science / Library Information Management
Desirable:
- MBA with HR Specialization
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with the use of databases and the internet
Essential:
- 2 Years of Experience in relevant field
