Key Responsibilities
- Reports to Plant Head and apprises him on safety performance of the plant at regular intervals.
- Conducts hazard analysis for the entire site to identify risk areas in operations and new projects and ensures implementation of the plans thereof.
- Checks & evaluates effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personal injuries.
- Incorporate PTW & ensure compliances.
- Advise procurement team for procuring high quality, suitable PPEs.
- Prepare annual training calendar & audit plan.
- Initiate & facilitates plant safety audits, inspections & observation rounds in order to observe physical conditions of workplace, EHS practices & procedures implementations.
- Render the advice on measures to be adopted for removing unsafe conditions & preventing unsafe actions by employees.
- Handling matters related to reporting & investigation of industrial accidents & diseases to DISH.
- Facilitates implementation of CAPA for any incidents/accidents.
- Maintain all the records as necessary related to first aid, medical treatment cases, LTI, disabilities & fatalities as per DISH requirement.
- Organize, coordinate & conduct plant safety committee meetings & ensure recording & compliance of MoM.
- Organise, coordinate, arrange & conduct various EHS campaigns, programs to drive EHS awareness.
- Organize, coordinate & conduct training on MSDS of all the chemicals used in the plant.
- Ensure firefighting equipment in good condition & operational. Monthly reports to be generated & share to Plant Head.
- Ensure smooth operation of OHC.
- Organize, coordinate & conduct timely periodical medical examination of employees and ensure to maintain records of reports and health register as per DISH.
- Prepare EHS improvement annual plan with each functional heads and submit to Plant Head.
- Prepare & validate site environment plan and identify gaps for implementation to meet all statutory norms.
- Able to understand & interpret EIA reports.
- Ensure smooth operations of ETP & MEE all the time and discharge/recycling of treated water as per CTO norms.
- Ensure proper operations and control of all wastewater / effluent treatment and recycling system for comprehensively abiding with statutory regulations.
- Prepare Site emergency & disaster management plan.
- Ensure & plan proper disposal of residues/solid wastes as per SPCB.
- Filing timely returns/statements of compliance with SPCB.
- Develop plans for reduction of carbon footprint in line with EHS strategy.
- Work with plant HR department to ensure employees are abide by EHS regulations and develop training program for EHS skill enhancement.
- Prepare risk mitigation plan as per identified risks.
- Ensure PPE inventory & usage.
- Periodical review of training needs in EHS and advise plant HR department on development of training activities.
- Data management, presentation skills.
Qualification B.E./B.Tech. /M.Sc. in Chemical / Environment & ADIS from CLI or premiere institute.
Experience Minimum 8 years in any Chemical / Agrochemical industries. Knowledge of DISH & CPCB/MPCB/EC regulations & compliance.
