Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering/ECE, ready to handle the challenging problems in future technologies and designs.
We are also looking for candidates with Machine Learning/AI and/or Data Science background to lead our leading-edge algorithms and AI technology within our EDA solutions to increase our design team’s productivity and chip quality and performance.

Strong interpersonal skills are needed to coordinate deliverables and requirements from several areas within and outside of the organization. About Business UnitIndia Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems world-wide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in India's Silicon Valley and startup hub - Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system to software defined storage. The lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. The lab has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far.
The Electronic Design Automation (EDA) group at IBM develops advanced CAD tools used in designing the world’s most secure and powerful microprocessors. Our EDA tools and methodologies enable the design of leading-edge microprocessors that are the foundation of the hybrid cloud, cognitive/AI, security, blockchain, mobile, and data analytic computing. The group develops and supports high performance design automation software generally not available in the commercial market. These software tools cover the full spectrum of the chip design process. Our team develops gate and transistor level tools, and continually pioneer innovative algorithms in the field of timing, signal electromigration, and noise analysis. Our code runs the gamut from scripts to compiled C++ code to web-based front ends with databases on the backend to store the data. We manage our development in an agile fashion using Github, daily scrums, and sprint planning.
This job requires you to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated prior to your start date and proof of vaccination status will be required before your start date. During the Onboarding process you will be asked to confirm your vaccination status, in case you are unable to get vaccinated for any reason, you can let us know at that stage. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Individual contributor be part Transistor Level Timing (TLT)
- 4+ years of Semiconductor/VLSI experience
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment are a must
- EDA Tool development experience
- Strong software skills - C++, PYTHON, and scripting languages
- Thorough understanding of Static Timing Analysis. Knowledge of other VLSI domains is a plus

- Cadence, VLSI knowledge, VHDL/Verilog, computer architecture, Machine Learning/AI
