Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying, and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures, and markets. Operations Transformation partners with Operations users, Technology and Business stakeholders to deliver strategic transformation initiatives. Growth in business volume and process complexity has led to increased manual processing and a need to coordinate tasks more efficiently across teams. As a result, Operations has initiated a multi-year journey to standardize and automate workflow at scale. The Discovery, Data and Analytics pillar operates as a Center of Excellence (COE) that champions Operational Excellence by providing Operations with insights into people and activities involved in the execution of processes. The COE currently supports many tools, the key ones are: - Process Mapping/Discovery - Operations uses a single business process mapping tool that serves as a central repository of process maps and data. Process maps are created by Operations users adhering to BPMN 2.0 standards. - Team Utilization - Operations has adopted an automated tool to capture time spent by teams doing work and using this data to better manage intensity, allocate resources and measure impact of process/technology changes. - Email Analytics - Operations has adopted a tool that helps teams draw insights from their usage of email to identify opportunities to leverage scalable technologies like workflow automation and case management tools. The main responsibilities of the COE are to enable and support the Operations organization in achieving their objectives for operational excellence by providing the tools and data, training and engagement with the Operations organization. The COE will also engage in projects and initiatives, in a specialist time-focused capacity, as needed to support the Operations organization. Occasionally, in partnership with Technology, the COE will lead &support the assessment of emerging MS/Vendor tools by coordinating and conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs). The main focus of the role will be to engage with Global Operations and support users to drive adoption of the tools and achieve the broader Operations targets for Transformation. This role will support the global or regional lead in the adoption of tools by Operations teams.
